COMMISSIONER FETES PDP STAKEHOLDERS IN ABAK FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

In the spirit of yuletide, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, last weekend, hosted executive members of the People’s Democratic Party and stakeholders in Abak Federal Constituency, comprising Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika local government areas.

At the gathering of the party faithful, including chapter and ward officials, as well as youths and women, Mr. Umanah donated gifts, including  financial support and more than 300 bags of rice to them.

Addressing the people, he said the gesture was to felicitate with them at the yuletide and to thank them for their steadfast support given to him and the administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio.

The Commissioner said he was inspired to share the season with the party supporters, in line with the approach of the Governor, whom he said, placed high premium on the welfare of the citizenry.

The Commissioner used the occasion to highlight some of the programmes of the present administration, which have positively impacted the lives of the people.

According to him, they are free and compulsory education; the free medical treatment; youth and women empowerment in agriculture as well as the construction of Abak-Etim Ekpo-Iwukem Road, and the New Abak Bridge in the Federal Constituency.

In a chat with our publisher after the event, Aniekeme Finbarr Mr. Umanah, promised to continue to promote the interests and welfare of the people, solicited their continued support for the Akpabio administration, in order to attract more dividends of democracy to Abak Federal Constituency.

The Commissioner thanked Governor Akpabio for giving him the opportunity to serve in the State Executive Council, through which, he has been able to render service to Akwa Ibom people.
