Moves to strengthen the support base of Gov Udom Emmanuel and the Peoples Democratic Party in the State has gained more impetus as the President African Media Network (AMNET) and immediate past Commissioner for Information and Communications, Elder Aniekan Umanah, has renewed the call on people of the state to mobilize support for the return bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel, to continue the good work he is doing in the state.
Elder Umanah re-echoed his support for the governor's second term bid at the opening ceremony of the inter-ward football tournament organized by PDP Ward Chairmen in Abak Local Government Area on Sunday, December 18, where he noted that the state chief executive has performed credibly well in sustaining the tempo of development in the state despite the economic crunch in the country.
He cited the recent categorization of the state among the four economically viable states in the country by Budget IT, as a manifestation of Governor Emmanuel's proactive leadership and commendable financial management of the lean resources; numerating the breakthroughs the state has attained through the ongoing industrialization drive of the administration as a module Nigeria should emulate.
The AMNET helmsman used the forum to commend the state Deputy Governor Mr. Moses Ekpo, whom he described as a stabilizing political factor in the state, having done well to proof himself a dependable hand in the governor's drive to engender superior performance.
The ex-information boss who made a cash donation to support the tournament, lauded the ward chairmen in the area for their commitment to the founding ideals and principles of the party, which include people-oriented leadership and massive grassroots mobilization, while calling on them to work to ensure PDP retains the religious followership it has always recorded in Abak.
Present at the massively attended event, which was chaired by the Provost Federal College of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Jos, Dr. Nkereuwem Etukudoh, were the member for Abak in the State House of Assembly Elder Friday Iwok, Special Adviser Bureau of Cooperative and Rural Development Mrs Ekemini Umoh, as well as the Chairman Abak Local Government Transition Committee Barr. Emmanuel Udosen, among others.
